Welcome to WLA

Welcome to Winnebago Lutheran Academy!

Thank you for your interest in Winnebago Lutheran Academy! I am Pastor Philip Janke, and I serve as the Director of Admissions and Communication. I love to share the mission of Winnebago Lutheran Academy because WLA offers treasures that so many seek–Meaning, Belonging, and Purpose–while providing students an excellent Christian education.

Permit me to introduce your family to the WLA family. We would love to welcome you into it. Together we would be nurtured in our growth as God’s children–prepared for life after high school and into eternity. I look forward to giving you a tour of our campus, allowing you to experience a day in the life of a WLA student.

You may also be interested in attending our Viking Open House, an event designed to help parents and students make an informed decision about where they belong during their high school years. WLA administration, teachers, and students are part of this event. You are also invited to attend any of our many on campus events: concerts, athletics events, theater productions, and more–our doors are open!

I look forward to meeting you soon!

Enrollment Process

The enrollment process at Winnebago Lutheran Academy is tailored to you and your family.

  • Step 1 – Schedule a Tour and/or Attend Viking Open House

Schedule a tour and meet with the Director of Admissions and Communication at a time that suits your schedule to learn more about the mission of WLA and how our family might serve yours. Information will be shared with you about the WLA Philosophy of Education, tuition, financial aid, the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP), and the Special Needs Scholarship Program (SNSP). You will also have an opportunity to see our campus.

or

Attend Viking Open House, an inviting event designed to share WLA programs and activities. The event allows you to meet and greet leaders of each program and activity and discuss any financial information mentioned above. Tours are also available.

Students are invited to Shadow a WLA student during a school day. Shadow days are scheduled at your convenience excluding testing days and days immediately before regular school breaks.

  • Step 2 – Complete Online Enrollment Application

Once you have made your school visit, the next step is to fill out the Online Enrollment Form. When this form is completed a member of the Admissions Team will contact you if further information is needed. There is a $100 tuition discount for the 2026-2027 school year if enrollment is complete before November 30, 2025.

  • Step 3 – Acceptance Letter, Class Schedule, and Financial Applications

If accepted into enrollment you will receive a letter from WLA welcoming you into the WLA family. In February the guidance department intends to visit your school to assist your student(s) in building a schedule based on information shared on the online enrollment form, the schedule form (distributed in January/February) and information received from your middle school.

If it applies to you, apply for Financial Aid between November 1 and November 30, 2025 (1st window) or between February 2 and April 16, 2026 (2nd window). Or, apply for the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program in one of the monthly windows between Feb. 2 and Sept. 14, 2026. Then, accept the Financial Aid in late May or WPCP Voucher when notified. Or, if your child has a public school IEP or private school Service Plan you would apply for a Special Needs Scholarship. Consent to a tuition agreement plan takes place in late May or early June.
