Winnebago Lutheran Academy is part of the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP). For students who qualify and then are selected to receive a voucher through the WPCP, the family receives a voucher from the State of Wisconsin that pays their student’s WLA tuition in full. The voucher remains with the student through their time at WLA.
Ninth grade is considered an entry point in the WPCP. This means all incoming 9th graders who meet the income criteria and apply are eligible. Students currently receiving a voucher for grade school can transfer the voucher directly to WLA without having to meet the income criteria.
The cap for vouchers in the 2024-25 was scheduled to be 9% of the school district’s total enrollment where the family resides. Each year may be different. For school districts where more students apply than the cap allows, students are selected by random by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Eligibility is based on family size and Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) as reported on your 2022 tax return (or 2023 tax return if already filed) (see chart below) and being a resident of the State of Wisconsin.
